They're playing High Cotton in Albany GA!

Southern Elegance in Albany was a happening place recently when the girls all got together after work to play "High Cotton".  This was a fun group, and, let me tell you, they know how to compete! They had so much fun that "High Cotton" is now on their calendar as a regular event.  So, if you need the perfect gift or home accessory, go see Mary Ann at Southern Elegance.  And, if you are in need of a little F-U-N, all you gotta do is play "High Cotton" and you will laugh til you cry!

There's more to the beach than sun and sand.  This crew was celebrating a milestone birthday and had a little "High Cotton" competition for evening entertainment. This game got the adrenalin flowing and the players flying! Go, Jessi! I think this one gets the "funniest photo award" so far this year.  LOL

Thanks for sending in the photos!

Heather and Caleb are getting married......but not before the bridal party plays "High Cotton"! Cards were flying, chips were grabbed, a little fiesty competition was the entertainment of the day. The winner walks away with a prize AND the bride walked away with the popular Peach and Love peach tree charm to be engraved with her wedding date.  Heather and Caleb, we wish you "A Charmed Life" filled with southern love.

High Cotton: The Sketches

Women in the south have always had a tradition of getting together to play cards - canasta, bridge, spades.  My great grandmother loved a good game of Canasta, and I bet yours did too.  Since it did not involve gambling, she felt like her church sisters would approve.  :)

At Peach and Love, we decided to come up with a new game that would give women a reason to continue to come together for fun times with friends.  We wanted a spirited game that would be easy to plan for. We wanted a game that would allow you to play with any number of women up to 13 players - although we suggest having at least 6 players for maximum fun.

After practice games with friends and lots of work with our illustrator (a fabulous southern artist), we are excited to announce that we will be ready to release our fun, new game in about three weeks!

Our game is called "High Cotton" and is meant to be a fun tribute to doing well and being "in high cotton" in the south.  We chose images symbolizing high times in the old south.  Designs on our cards include items such as a mansion, a Cadillac, a hefty cigar, silver, pearls, diamonds, and other items that are easily recognizable.

We can't wait to share more with you as the plans come together, but we thought we would start by showing you how a little about the process of designing our cards.

Our illustrator began by sending us rough sketches for approval...

The next step was putting the images on the card faces.  Here is a sneak peek at two of our card faces...

Peach and Love: Our Story
Posted by Peach and Love on 12.02.2009 in Publicity, High Cotton Game Photos

Welcome to Peach and Love - a fresh and fun place with a front porch feel. We remember and hold dear simpler times in the south when friends stopped by for a glass of sweet tea and a long talk. Family dinners were the norm with the entire family around the table enjoying conversation and plenty of good food.

These days we live in a fast-paced, information driven world that women are very much a part of at work, at home, and at play. We crave time to wind down and connect with the people we care most about. We want to help you find that welcoming, sweet place!

So, why in the world is this company named Peach and Love? Besides the retro feel of the words, the peach is a symbol of love and long life, dating back to a simpler time in the south.  We want to offer experiences for women to connect, give, reflect, laugh and share. We hope you will enjoy our blog, and we want you to be part of our Peach and Love family. We want to savor the sweet life.  How about you?

Please leave us a note below, and come back soon!
